Wildlife Management for Educators (Part I)
Date: July 14 - 19, 2024
This course takes a hands-on, experiential approach to teaching pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade and non-formal educators about fish and wildlife management and outdoor education techniques.
A one-week course held in July at the Buck Lake Green Mountain Conservation Camp, for formal, non-formal, and pre-service educators of all disciplines and grade levels. Educators interested in integrating environmental topics into their curriculum can learn about Vermont's wildlife and fisheries from professional biologists, foresters and educators through hands-on activities.
Three Graduate-level credits from Castleton University are available. Cost: $710 due and payable to VT Fish & Wildlife There is also a non-credit option.
Wildlife Management for Educators (Part II)
Prerequisite: Participants must have completed the Wildlife Management for Educators Part I course at Buck Lake prior to registering for this course.
Date: June 4 - 7, 2024
This course builds off the week-long Wildlife Management & Outdoor Education Techniques for Educators course offered through CU at GMCC: Buck Lake. Like the first course, Part II takes a hands-on, experiential approach to teaching pre- kindergarten through twelfth grade and non-formal educators about fish and wildlife management and outdoor education techniques.
A three-day, residential course held in June at the Edward F. Kehoe Green Mountain Conservation Camp, for formal, non-formal, and pre-service educators of all disciplines and grade levels. Educators interested in integrating more in-depth environmental topics into their curriculum can learn about Vermont's wildlife and habitat conservation from professional biologists and educators through hands-on activities.
Two Graduate-level credits from Castleton University are available.
