Apple Tree Pruning and Releasing Workshop

Apple trees are an important food resource for  wildlife and the best way to improve apple tree productivity is to provide for direct sunlight.

Join landowners Rusty and Kathleen Barber, biologist Matt DiBona with the National Wild Turkey Federation and forester Nick Smith for a FREE hands-on workshop to learn about and try simple techniques for pruning and releasing apple trees. Find out which tools to use, how much to prune, how and where to make the pruning cuts, and when it should be done. Bring along your gloves, pruning saw, loppers and clippers to try your hand at making some cuts. Please dress for the weather, we will be outdoors.

When: Saturday, March 19 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Where: 307 Deweysburg Rd in Peacham/West Danville | map
