Deer Processing Workshop

Learn how to process your own deer from start to finish!

This class offers hands-on instruction on butchering venison for the table. Workshop will include breaking carcass into primal cuts, cutting primals into roasts, stew meat, and steak, grinding for hamburger and sausage, proper packaging of meat for storage, and much more. Venison dishes will be served at lunchtime, and at the end of the day participants will have the opportunity to bring home packaged venison they helped process.

Workshop runs Saturday Oct 17 2020, 10am-4pm at the Rutland Fish and Wildlife Agency Office at 271 North Main Street Suite #215 in Rutland City. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty, bring a face mask, and join us to learn the art of butchering venison.
