*As of January 2019, individuals offering trapping services for furbearers in defense of property will need a valid trapping license.
**For bats, all pest control or nuisance wildlife specialists must follow Vermont’s Best Management Practices for Excluding Bats from Vermont Residences and fill out a nuisance bat work report when excluding bats from buildings. Work conducted by following the best management practices is exempt from requiring a State Threatened and Endangered Species Permit from the Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. Animal Damage/Pest Control professionals following the best management practices and reporting their activities will be identified for public inquiries as Animal Damage/Pest Control professionals in compliance with Vermont Endangered Species law.
