Join conservation staff from Vermont Fish & Wildlife and the Vermont Land Trust from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19 to learn about the incredible series of wetlands and recent conservation efforts at Keswick Swamp Wildlife Management Area in Sunderland.
Participants will discuss plans for improved pedestrian access and learn about work being done to enhance wildlife habitat connectivity and to protect significant wetlands while finding out about private and public conservation efforts on the area with local people who helped protect it. The group will walk through meadows and hardwood stands on a hike to beaver ponds to see an active heron rookery. Many species of wildlife use the area, so participants are urged to bring binoculars.
Vermont Fish & Wildlife urges participants to register for the event here: https://www.register-ed.com/events/view/149736. The group will meet at 1:00 p.m. on the 19th at Hayden Road.
