Visit VT Fish &Wildlife at the Yankee Show, Jan. 18-20

The annual Yankee Sportsman’s Classic show will be held January 18, 19 and 20 at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction, and the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is inviting you to visit their exhibits and attend their seminars at the show.

“We are looking forward to talking with as many people as possible at the show,” said Fish & Wildlife Commissioner Louis Porter.  “It’s a great opportunity for us to share the latest information about fish and wildlife, and it gives people a chance to talk with us about fish and wildlife issues.  Our wardens, biologists and other staff will be at our exhibit.”

The 2019 hunting, fishing and trapping lawbooks and optional Vermont big game tags will be available at Fish & Wildlife’s exhibit booth.  The free tags are offered as a durable alternative to paper tags on licenses and may be used to tag deer, bear or turkeys.  Hunters, anglers, and trappers will also be able to buy their 2019 licenses.

Fish & Wildlife deer biologist Nick Fortin will give a presentation at noon on Saturday.  And Fish & Wildlife is coordinating seminars upstairs on field dressing and processing deer by Rodney and Theresa Elmer at 11:00 a.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. Sunday.  The Skinny Pancake will serve free wild game crepes on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Show hours are Noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.  Learn more about the show at:  (http://yankeeclassic.net).
