Using Primitive Firearms

This seminar will focus on the use and safe handling of primitive firearms. From flintlocks to the modern in-lines, students will handle and shoot each type of primitive firearm. Firearms and ammo will be provided, as will eye protection and ear protection.  Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Getting Started in Archery

This seminar covers everything you need to know to begin archery hunting. From choosing a bow to tuning it, the seminar will also cover camo, stand placement, and tree stand safety. You may bring your bow to the class. There is an indoor range there. If you have not selected a bow to purchase yet, the instructor will provide one for you to try out.

Deer Processing

This seminar covers field dressing, skinning and processing a deer. There will be a short cooking portion of the seminar, and everyone will be able to sample venison. Dress for the weather, as we will do the field dressing portion outside. This seminar is taught by Rodney and Theresa Elmer.

Deer Tracking

This seminar will focus on tracking the whitetail deer. Rodney Elmer and his family will show you how to be a successful tracker in the big woods. Locating a track, clothing, firearm selection, and other topics will be covered. Beginning hunters, or experienced hunters will both enjoy this seminar. Light refreshments will be provided.
