Where to Go

If you are looking for a weekend of fun, trying camping and fishing at Half Moon Pond State Park. This state park also offers boat rentals, swimming, and a playground. You will have to pay for a campsite, but you can also fish at the nearby Lake Bomoseen day use area for no extra charge. More info

Fish You'll Find

The best fishing for largemouth bass, sunfish, and yellow perch is from spring to early July.

How Do I Get There?

Go west from Rutland on US Route 4. Get off at exit 3 and head north on Scotch Hill Rd. for about 3.8 miles (Scotch Hill Rd becomes West Castleton Rd.). Soon after you pass Glen Lake (on your left), turn left onto Moscow Rd. Moscow Rd. becomes Black Pond Rd. Almost 3 miles after you turn onto Moscow Rd. look for Half Moon State Park on your right.
