If you enjoy talking to people and have a strong interest in fish and wildlife, conservation, and wildlife-based recreation, then consider becoming a volunteer ambassador.
You don’t have to be an expert, just have an enthusiasm for nature and sharing information with visitors.
Each year hundreds of visitors come to the Dead Creek Visitor Center to view the exhibits and learn about Vermont’s wildlife and the department’s work. The facility is open to the general public on weekends during the spring and summer and on weekdays during the peak fall season and autumn waterfowl migration.
Various shifts are available for volunteers from April through mid-November. Ambassador training is held each March. Volunteers must be 18 years of age, attend the training, and agree to a background check.
Please contact Amy Alfieri for more information or to register for the training at amy.alfieri@vermont.gov, or 802-759-2398.
