Monitoring Bat Colonies

bat houses on a barn

The summer bat monitoring program has been postponed until 2021 in order to protect human health. Most of the monitoring for this program involves sending volunteers to other people’s homes, increasing the risk of exposure to Covid-19. We would like to thank all of our volunteers and homeowners for their help and cooperation in the past and hope you can join us again in 2021.

If you have questions, please reach out to Alyssa Bennett at Alyssa.bennett@vermont.gov or 802-353-4818. In the meantime, we are still happy to collect reports of bats in structures where you live and encourage you to watch for bats at dusk in your own backyard.
