Fish with a Warden: Heineberg Bridge, Colchester VT

Fish with a Warden sessions are being offered throughout Vermont this Summer and Fall.

Join your local warden and outreach staff for a relaxing evening of fishing. Wardens will be available to answer any fish and wildlife related questions you may have and to help you hone in on your fishing skills! This is a perfect opportunity to meet your local warden while learning a little bit about a local body of water.

Each session will last an hour or more. You need to bring your own fishing equipment. Face masks, social distancing and fishing licenses are required.

DEADLINE TO APPLY- Trout Unlimited, Fly Fishing Summer Camp for Teens

The 2020 camp is scheduled for Sunday June 21st through Thursday June 25th at Jackson’s Lodge in Canaan, Vermont.

Prospective campers are encouraged to apply no later than April 15, 2020 to secure a spot for this year’s program.  The cost for the 5-day camp is $450.  Scholarships may be available on an “as-needed” basis.

This clinic focuses on ice fishing for lake trout, and is taught by both outreach and fisheries staff.  Techniques will include jigging and setting tip-ups, but no ice fishing experience is necessary.  All gear will be provided.  Dress in warm clothes with good footwear and pack plenty of cocoa and food. Learn the basics of fly tying in this fun hands on course! Course topics will include terminology, tools and basic fly patterns. This course is part of partnership between the Mad Dog Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Vermont Fish & Wildlife. The course runs from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday evenings, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 3/31 There is a $20 materials fee, participants are expected to attend all 4 evenings.
