Rainbow, brown and lake trout, rainbow smelt, largemouth and smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, pumpkinseed sunfish, and catfish.
Habitat
Echo Lake provides diverse aquatic habitat to support the lake’s wide range of fish species. The cove on the north side of the park (fishing dock side) and the delta of Buffalo Brook are both shallower areas that provide good cover for warm water species such as bass, pickerel and sunfish. The open lake in front of the swim area is the deepest part of the lake and creates key habitat for coldwater dwelling trout and smelt.
Park Fishing Tips
Try your luck fishing for bass in the cove on the north side of the park. Use a spinner, popper or soft plastic bait. For trout, troll the deeper waters directly out from the swim area, or halfway between the island and the eastern (park) side of the lake. Use a three-way swivel with a natural or artificial bait, spinner or spoon to go after fish near the bottom.

Nearby Boating Access Areas
At Camp Plymouth on Echo Lake, campers may launch their canoes or kayaks from the park shoreline, or take advantage of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Fishing Access Area on the west side of the lake, which features a concrete boat ramp suitable for several types of watercraft, including motorboats.
